Sterling Silver -  such a beautiful, rich color, whether it's polished to be as bright as a mirror, is intentionally blackened using a special process, or matte'd for effect.  Sterling will not tarnish as long as you wear it!  It only tarnishes when you leave it unworn.  So . . . be sure to wear your wonderful, new Metalifics jewelry - don't make it sit in a jewelry box!

Copper - such a wonderful metal.  It starts out very bright and shiny and, as it ages, it becomes a nutty brown color.  Then, if left in exactly the right conditions , it may turn green!  (Look at houses with copper accents!)  At Metalifics, we usually leaves copper in its natural state, so your piece will go to nutty brown.  If you wish to keep it shiny, just use a silver polishing cloth on it.  It will be shiny again with just a few swipes.  Or, try a chore-boy for a matte finish!  Now, you may know that copper wants to turn your skin green! You can easily avoid this (and still enjoy the mellow look of copper) by wearing it over a piece of clothing. 

Brass and Bronze - both are yellow metals that shine beautifully!  The back of a pendant will get dull, however, if worn next to skin.  Just wear it over clothing and it will stay shiny.  Use a silver polishing cloth for touch up if needed.

Taking Care of Metalifics Jewelry

To give your Metalifics jewelry a quick shine, simply wipe them with a silver polishing cloth. 

For deeper cleaning and polishing, dip pieces for a few seconds in this easy solution:

• 1 T Joy dish detergent
• 1 T ammonia
• 1/2 cup hot tap water

Brush with an old toothbrush and dry with a soft cloth.  (Note:  while you're doing this, be sure to clean your diamond ring!  You can do it without removing it from your finger!)
